COUNSELING DEPARTMENT NEWS:
ATTENTION:
   All current sophomores and juniors- if you are planning to take the Fall 2016 administration of the PSAT/NMSQT exam on October 19th, and you haven’t already registered; you can register in the Counseling office-starting today! There is a $15.00 fee for each exam unless you qualify for a fee waiver!
Seniors:    a good way to see what a university has to offer is by attending their open house. Here are some open house dates:
Sacramento State – Saturday, October 8th
CSU East Bay – Monday, October 17th
CSU Chico – Saturday, October 22nd
Humboldt State – Friday, October 28th
University of the Pacific (UOP) – Saturday, October 22nd and Saturday, November 12th  (9am-3:30pm)
Washington University in St. Louis – Sunday, October 16th  (2pm-3pm) Information session being held at the San Ramon Marriott.
ATTENTION:   All current sophomores and juniors- if you are planning to take the Fall 2016 administration of the PSAT/NMSQT exam on October 19th, and you haven’t already registered; please visit the counseling office ASAP. The deadline to register for this exam is Friday September 30, 2016. There is a $15.00 fee for each exam unless you qualify for a fee waiver! The PSAT/NMSQT is great practice for the SAT. Both exams have the same types of questions, and taking the PSAT/NMSQT can help you get comfortable testing under timed conditions. The test gives you personalized feedback on your skill strengths and weaknesses so you have a better idea of what study areas in which you need to work.
S.A.T. information:
SENIORS: If you are planning to apply to a college this year that requires you to take the SAT exam and you haven’t already registered for the exam; you can do so by going to the College Board website-www.collegeboard.org. If you need assistance please visit the counseling office and speak with your counselor.
Next administration dates: November 5th (Registration Deadline: October 7th) Subject Tests (Registration Deadline: October 7th) ; December 3rd  (Registration Deadline: November 3rd ) Subject Tests (Registration Deadline: November 3rd)
A.C.T. information:
If you are planning to apply to a college this year that requires you to take the ACT exam
and you haven’t already registered for the exam; you can do so by going to the ACT website-www.act.org. If you need assistance please visit the counseling office and speak with your counselor. 
Next administration dates:  October 22nd (Registration Deadline: September 16th )  AND   December 10th (Registration Deadline: November 4th )
SATURDAY SCHOOL SCHEDULE
SATURDAY SCHOOL SCHEDULE 2016-2017:
Students who have unexcused absences are urged to attend Saturday School. Each Saturday School attended makes up for one (1) unexcused absence.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
  • You can sign up in the attendance office and drop-ins are also welcome.
  • Saturday School is from 8-12 and you must serve the entire session
  • You must bring school assignments to work on
  • Meet at the quad entrance nearest attendance office at 7:55
  • Snacks are provided: full rate- $2.00; Reduced- .30 cents; or Free

DATES: September 24; October 8 & 22; November 5; December 10; January 14 & 28; February 11; March 4 & 18; April 1 & 29; and May 13.
